Sewn bellows

Sewn bellows are handmade flexible protective elements whose areas of application are extraordinarily diverse. Sewn bellows are used wherever the ability to move and the protection of important machine parts must be ensured.

AREAS OF OPERATION

  • Protection against dust, scale, chips for cardan shafts, spindles, pistons and hydraulic systems
  • Protection against sand, flying sparks, heat and material splashes on robots Moulding and casting machines.
  • Prevents dust formation in vibratory conveyor and packaging systems. In rectangular form as partitioning of scissor lift tables.
  • Ensuring the ability to move in aggressive or humid climates
  • Reduction of noise in piping systems
  • Protection of moving parts in industrial robots.

Manufacturing

Sewn bellows are manufactured without a mould. The shaping is done by wire rings, which are available in almost any diameter. The sewn-in wire rings can be round or rectangular and give the bellows its shape as well as enormous stability.  The folding valley is created by folding over a spiral spring.

EXECUTIONS

Medium to large bellows. Bellows in sewn design can be made from a variety of materials, depending on the intended use. Length ratios of up to 1:10 are possible depending on the depth of the fold. Diameter 100 - 2,000 mm
Length: unlimited (also in sections)

To enable an even pull-out, bellows with a dead weight of more than 10 kg can be fitted with pull-out stops. This additionally protects the individual folds from overstretching.
The standard pleat depth for sewn bellows is between 30 and 50mm.
To avoid increased wear and tear as well as sagging in horizontal use, support or sliding washers can be used.
