Machine of the Year 2018

The "KRONE BIG X" is the latest innovation from the agricultural machinery manufacturer Krone. The "BIG X" promises more comfort when chopping thanks to an innovative cab lift, which the driver can raise by 70 cm at the touch of a button. This gives the driver a perfect view of the crop or even of the trailer in parallel operation or when chopping. Another advantage is the greater distance to the chopping unit, which has a positive effect on the noise level in the driver's cab.

The "KRONE BIG X" model was preceded by a 2-year planning and development period. Many tests with different variants were carried out over months. For the cladding of the cabin lift, which is placed on a hydraulic scissor lift table, the "KRONE BIG X" relies on a bellows from our production. The bellows protects both the mechanics of the lifting device from external influences (dust, sand, rain) and from injuries.

At the Agritechnica 2017 trade fair, which took place in Hanover in November, the model was awarded "Machine of the Year 2018" by the German Agricultural Society (DLG). For the third time in a row, the agricultural machinery manufacturer secured the coveted title in the forage harvester category.
